When selecting your theme, think about who’s on your guest list and how it will suit them. Do your research, look into the the music style and the history so you fully understand the ins and outs of that era or genre. By getting down to the nitty gritty details like this you will be creating an event for your guests that allows them to to feel like they are in the moment and truly experiencing the theme you have chosen. Here are our favourite six themes to give you some inspiration:
Hollywood - Oozing sophistication in tuxedo’s and gowns whilst surrounded by dramatic drapes and dazzling chandeliers. Roll out the red carpet with rope railing aisle dividers to hold back the paps and enjoy the bubbles from vintage champagne glasses. Add in ‘Director’ chairs, giant film reels an award statues for that finishing touch.
Hawaiian - Have the tiki hut stocked up with all the rum, coconuts and cocktail umbrellas. Luau fence fringes, palm trees, tropical leafs and aloha signage will set the scene for your sun craving guests. Be sure to give the dress code of flower lies, grass skirts and wacky vibrant shirts so no one feels out of place.
Seventies - Flares, afro’s and tashes are a must. Glitter disco balls and multi coloured strobe lighting will create the perfect place to strut those dance moves on the LED dance floor. Make an entrance with a bright entrance to get your guests in the disco mood and include glowing cubes and poseur tables to set the scene.
Masquerade - Dating back to the 15th century, high collar’s and puffy sleeves were the look for masquerade balls which started in the 15th century in Italy. Mysterious laced masques along with dark lighting, feathers, candelabras and curtains will give you that theatrical feel and Renaissance style.
Tea Party - A traditional English tea party with pretty flower patterns and the finest china fit for a Queen to enjoy. Bunting, pom pom garlands and a rustic floral backdrop for that insta worthy snap. And not forgetting those delicious scones and a selection of finger sandwiches placed on beautiful tied cake stands as your show stopping centre pieces.
Casino royal - Life size, light up dices and playing cards hanging from the walls along with Vegas signs in lights and plenty of feather centre pieces will bring your casino themed party to life.
